                                Augustine Boyce Cummings

                It was an honor to meet Augustine Boyce Cummings. He is an artist who shows his paintings and brings a meaning that explains his artwork. Augstine gave an artist talks about his artwork that shows the viewers into his artwork. But he has his exhibition in the Mosaic Artspace. Where viewers can see their paintings in person, and he talks about some of his artwork in person. But now, at Hudson County Community College, he gives a presentation and artist talk in which he talks about every painting and gives the details of his work. In Augustine Boyce Cummings's work, he will show his art form and what contemporary is being offered and explain to the viewers what this artwork mentions about himself or anything. 

               His artwork focuses on using his form of painting, which shows how he made his paintings and shows the details in his artwork. In his paintings, he mostly shows animals, like Werewolf and deer. But it mostly shows animals that live in the forest since this defines how this inspired him to inspire to do animals.

                        This painting specifies different types of images but also provides the stars, which Agustine does show in some other artwork, which defines him as a symbol for him, which he made as a painting reminding him of his daughter. But Agustine mentions that it's like a symbol of protection caused by wood, which is interesting because he brings objects that bring more details into his artwork. You can see a sign, a bottle, and a ball from the movie Toy Story. The painting was a portrait of his daughter when she was little. But this defines symbolism in art, which brings the definition into his artwork and shows that this is interesting and something for his art. In his own contemporary, this is mainly shown in this artwork.

                                                                 "Forrest Fire" 2014

                                    

                 This artwork explains about animals. Agustine mentioned that he started doing animals because this mostly inspired him when camping. In Colorado, he has gone chiefly camping since he was little, brought him to see animals, and encourages him to do paintings of animals. This is defined as land art since this painting shows the forest and the animals, which Agustine shows as a scene in which he shows the deer and the wolf working together to find a way out from the fire, and he mentions that they do find a way out. But this is another art that brings an interesting scene because it shows that this is a scenario and recognizes these animals for trying their best to escape from the fire. 

                                                                     "Puma", 2001

                            The painting Puma mostly shows interesting details where it features mostly white painting but also shows the sketch of the animal and fewer details in the forest, which it shows in the far right but not too many details. But this reminds me of land art artwork and shows like snow art. It reminds me of this painting, Winter, because at that time, it showed the color white because of the snow and sometimes the sky. After all, the clouds in winter are mostly grey or white sometimes. According to Agustine, he mainly provided a white background in this painting because he wanted to experience painting with white color. But he decided to draw the animals to make it naturalistic and to show something in his image.

                   Agustine is interested in using wilderness in his art because this mostly inspires him to do his artwork and paintings. This shows that he uses anything in his image that shows what he is explaining in his artwork and why he is offering this and is interested in doing it. Hopefully, there will be more exciting artwork shortly, and I hope to meet him again and see how he processes his paintings.
